Haven High Academy was delighted to inform students of their achievements across a wide range of GCSE, vocational and skills based qualifications.

Head of Academy Ellie Hextall congratulated students and staff on their achievements stating “despite further changes in examination courses this year, an impressive number of students achieved 8 or more subjects at grade 4 or above with many more achieving at least 5 grade 4 or above grades.  Additionally I am delighted that the students have achieved improved outcomes in almost every subject compared to last year. This is testament to the commitment and ambition of all involved.  These encouraging results are a great foundation on which to build our future successes.”

There has been a very significant increase in the number of top grades with almost 25% of all students being awarded a Grade 7 or equivalent or better.  Particular students who have excelled (in alphabetical order) include: Leah B ( 3×7, 2×6, 3×5) Kieva C (1×8, 1×7, 5×6), Anne M D (3×7, 1×6, 4x 5), Emmie D (1×9, 4×8, 3×7, 1×6), Alice H (3×9, 6×8, 1×7), Natalia K (1×9, 1×8, 4×7, 4×6, 1×5), Arturs K (1×8, 3×7, 4×6) Andrejs K (4×8, 1×7, 6×6), Megan L(1×9, 4x7s, 4×6) Shayla M (3×8, 2×7, 1×6, 1×5) and Eimantas R(2×8, 6×7, 3×6).

6th Form Press Release

As Haven High Academy completes its final year of sixth form, we are delighted to report another year of outstanding results.  A fantastic 83% of students achieved A*-C or equivalent grades, with a 96% pass rate overall.  This is testament to the commitment and hard work of the students and all the staff and parents who have supported them in their studies.

Exceptional performances in purely vocational courses included Emily F (D*D*D), Stella P (D*D* D), Erikas A, Chloe C and Domantas E (D*DD). Congratulations are also due to our highest performing students who followed blended courses including Eligijus L (D*and a B at A Level), Jacob P  and Bethany W (both with D*D and a B at A Level).

Destinations for this cohort are diverse as always, with students going on to the armed forces, civil service, private employment, apprenticeships or places in higher education.  Those in higher education are pursuing courses which include law, media and film production, criminology, psychology, sports coaching, business management and nursing.  Many local businesses and employers have also taken on our students as apprentices reflecting the confidence that the community have in students from Haven High.

BWAF Chief Executive Officer Mr Adrian Reed commented ‘It is truly wonderful to see that the Haven High Academy offer to 6th formers has again proven to be so successful.  I couldn’t be more proud of what has been achieved or feel more regret that this great facility has had to close due to government policy.  I would like to thank all those who have played a part in the changing of young people’s lives and giving them such fantastic experiences and prospects.’
