Virtual Events

At Haven High Academy we value the importance of communicating with our local community about the education we provide. Usually, we run a range of events at school throughout the summer term; introducing new initiatives, discussing progress and welcoming new students into our Haven family.

Due to the restrictions placed on us by Covid-19 we have decided, for the safety of all stakeholders, that we will be continue these events via live webinars on Microsoft Teams. This approach is very new to us, as were online lessons at the start of lockdown, but we are working hard to ensure these events are meaningful for parents, carers and students.

Below you will find our upcoming virtual events. For our webinars we ask that you fill out a short form so we can send you the invitation link to the event. If you have any questions for our webinars you can place these in the form and we will endeavour to answer as many as possible during the evening.

After each live event we will make the recording of the event, the presentation and a summary of the questions and answers available, just in case you had connectivity issues on the night or couldn’t make the event.

We look forward to seeing you at our virtual events.

Due to the restrictions caused by covid-19 Haven High Academy have decided to run their parents evening for the class of 21 using MS Teams. The event will take place on the 30th of June with teachers calling students on Teams with their parents present where possible at allocated times they have pre-booked. We feel this event is very important to allow a discussion to take place in relation to student progress and next steps.

If you are able to attend this event but meetings have not been pre-booked please phone the Academy and a member of the team will arrange appointments where possible with your child’s teachers.

Unsure how it all works?

We understand that this new technology can be daunting for some. So we felt it was important to run a live event with Mr Bruce who runs the production of our webinar events. We will be running this event at the below time slot and you can join by clicking the button provided.

Monday, July 6th 5 pm-5:30 pm

Mr Bruce will be available live for an informal drop-in session so you can familiarise yourself with the MS Teams interface. This event is optional and is intended to provide you support and confidence to receive the most from the live event on the 7th.

If you have any issues you would like to email directly about please email: David.Bruce@bwaf.net

Study and Support Program

At Haven High Academy we know that study is important for the success of our students in all year groups. When a student starts their final year at Haven High Academy we have for many years offered our successful Study and Support programme.  This provides students with a combination of high-quality tuition from our staff and weekly guidance from their supportive mentor.

The purpose of our launch webinar was to provide you with a more in-depth look at the programme; to see how it works, the research into why it works and the rewards that students can earn.

If you missed the event please find a full recording of the evening below. Through the use of Youtube, you can also put subtitles on that support a range of different languages.
